DESTINED 2 BE FIT TIPS FOR CLEANING UP YOUR DIET:

1. Eat small meals 5-6 times per day, this will keep your metabolism going strong throughout the day and it will keep you from waiting to eat until you are "starving" 2. Eat lots of veggies. Vegetables are very low in calories and very high in nutritional value, they will make you feel full more quickly and keep you full for longer. 3. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses per day. This too will keep you feeling full longer. If you don't like the taste of plain water you can try Crystal Light or adding "water flavors" to your water. 4. Keep tempting foods out of the house or at least out of site. Avoid keeping the foods that you know you are going to go for in a moment of weakness anywhere that is easily accessible to you. If it's not there you won't eat it! 5. Read nutrition labels. Be aware of what you are putting in your body. Don't look just at the calories or fats, be aware of the portion sizes as well! 6. Keep a journal. Write down everything that you eat throughout the day, you may be surprised at how much you are snacking. You may also discover what your most challenging times of day are when it comes to eating. 7. Choose whole grain pastas and breads, white breads and pastas have little to no nutritional value, and whole grain products will keep you feeling full longer due to the higher fiber content. 8. Find an activity that you can plan to do rather than eating when you are "bored". This could be writing in a journal, calling friends, responding to e-mails or hopping on the D2BFit Forum and chatting with your fitness support team! 9. Get up five minutes early in the morning so that you have time to prepare some snacks for the day. Having healthy snacks available to you will make eating every 2-3 hours much easier and will help you avoid overeating throughout the day. 10. Remember that your nutrition is extremely important to achieving your fitness goals. No more excuses for poor eating, if you are serious about achieving your fitness goals you can develop healthy eating habits that will help you get there faster!
